On October 25, The Macon (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated took a powerful step forward in the battle against Alzheimer’s by participating in the Central GA Walk to End Alzheimer’s. The walk is an extension of our Walk For Healthy Living initiative. Together, we raised over $4,000 to support research and programs that make a difference! The chapter was also recognized as a Walk Path Sponsor and cheered on all the walkers and volunteers as they crossed the finish line. Chapter volunteers also managed the program and advocacy tables for the Alzheimer’s Association by passing out literature and other community resources.

A special shoutout to Cadence Bank for their generous sponsorship and to all the amazing volunteers from Mercer University NPHC who dedicated their time and energy to this important cause!

Your support helps us bring awareness and hope to those impacted by Alzheimer’s. Let’s continue to make strides towards a world without Alzheimer’s! 💜

We celebrate the institutions that continue to empower and uplift generations. 💚🎓💚

📚💚 The Macon (GA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated enjoyed a wonderful time at Hartley Elementary School for Read for the Record 2025! Together, we’ll join children and communities across the country to celebrate the joy of reading and the power of storytelling.

This year’s featured book is See Marcus Grow by Marcus Bridgewater (with lovely illustrations by Reggie Brown). The story follows a young boy named Marcus who spends time in his grandma’s garden, discovering how caring for plants mirrors our own growth — learning that both seedlings and children thrive when given “water and air and sunshine … and space to grow.”

We’re excited to read aloud with the students, share in the wonder of discovery, and help plant seeds of literacy for our future leaders! 🌱📖

𝟭𝟴𝟵𝟬 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗚𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗶𝘁𝘂𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗦𝗰𝗵𝗼𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺

The Southern Area prioritizes food sovereignty as a central initiative to address creating a sustainable and food-secure future. This work also includes supporting HBCU students who are pursing education, research and careers that will advance this cause for the future through the Land & Legacy AgriFutures 1890 Land Grant Institution Scholarship Program. The Southern Area will award scholarships to two deserving students at each of the 8 land grant institutions in the Southern Area.

Scholarship Eligibility
🎓Enrolled at Alabama A&M University, Alcorn State University, Florida A&M University, Fort Valley State University, North Carolina A&T State University, South Carolina State University, Southern University and A&M College, or Tuskegee University

📚Declared major in agriculture, human sciences, environmental sciences, or food sciences

❎Children and immediate family of members of The Links, Incorporated are not eligible.
