Newly Chartered Pilot Club of Accra Completes Its First Service Project
Pilot Club of Accra is pleased to report the successful ex*****on of their first official service project on March 30, 2026 - the Pencil Pal Project, held at Dworwulu Special School in Accra Ghana.
This initiative was carried out shortly after their Chartering Ceremony, which was held March 28, reflecting their immediate commitment to service and impact.
The project directly aligned with the core focus areas of Pilot International. The Club advanced youth development by supporting students with essential learning tools. They reinforced the focus on brain health by engaging with a special needs institution, ensuring inclusion and support for children with unique learning needs. They also demonstrated care for others by supporting both the students and the dedicated caregivers within the school community.
As part of the project, the Club prepared and distributed 204 stationery packages. Each package included pencils, pens, exercise books, erasers, crayons and sharpeners. These items were carefully assembled to meet the practical academic needs of the students.
The reception from the school was warm and appreciative, and the engagement with the children and staff made the experience deeply meaningful for our members. The project created a strong sense of purpose and unity within the club, reinforcing the Pilot International mission from the very start.
Past International President Sharon Slusher has been with the Club throughout their beautiful milestones and firsts.
Dr. Emma Oliveira, Club President, shared, this initiative marks the beginning of sustained impact by the Pilot International Club of Accra, stating, āwe remain committed to delivering meaningful, measurable service within our community.ā
