Bike Walk Macon is Macon-Bibb’s first grassroots bike and pedestrian advocacy group committed to creating a happier, healthier city by promoting safe, connected, and vibrant streets for all. The group represents a diversity of community members, leaders, and organizations working to connect neighbors across Macon by using fun and creativity to help make residents more comfortable with walking and biking around town.

Bike Walk Macon is proud to offer free adult biking safety courses. We host workshops on bicycle skills, bicycle maintenance, and various other bicycle issues.

Our classes seek to grow the number of Maconites biking and walking through education, raising awareness, and cultivating bicycle and pedestrian leaders. Check out our free safety classes hosted by certified bicycle instructors and tailored to riders of all skill levels. You can sign-up at bikewalkmacon.com/classes.

🎸🥁🎤 Led by President Olivia Walter, this guided walk will take participants through , highlighting historic Bragg Jam venues and stories from the festival’s evolution over the years. Along the way, you'll get an inside look at what's in store for this year's Concert Crawl and learn how Bragg Jam continues to shape Macon's music ecosystem.

Along the way, you’ll get an inside look at what’s in store for this year’s Concert Crawl and learn how Bragg Jam continues to shape Macon’s music ecosystem.

Did you know Amerson River Park welcomed more than 𝟯𝟲𝟬,𝟬𝟬𝟬 𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱 according to Visit Macon? That’s more than double Macon-Bibb County’s population! ✨

As a key part of the , Amerson River Park connects people to more than 200 acres of forests, wetlands, and meadows along the Ocmulgee River. From scenic overlooks and miles of trail to river access, tubing, paddling, and one of the region’s most inclusive playgrounds, it’s easy to see why so many people are choosing to spend time at this incredible community asset.

Amerson River Park is more than just a beautiful place to spend the day - it’s an investment in Macon+Bibb County’s quality of life. As one of the most visited destinations along the Ocmulgee Heritage Trail, it supports tourism, attracts new residents, provides opportunities for outdoor recreation, and helps connect people to nature, the river, and each other. The fact that more than 360,000 people visited the park last year highlights just how important high-quality parks and trail systems are to our community.

Help us welcome Charity Lucas to the Bike Walk Macon team as our new Education and Engagement Manager!

A proud Middle Georgian, Charity brings a deep commitment to community, service, and creating places where people can connect. After supporting several Bike Walk Macon traffic calming projects over the years as an artist and volunteer, she is joining our team full-time to help lead our education and community engagement efforts.

Charity is a dedicated community leader with a passion for Macon’s growth and success. We’re excited to have her helping advance programs and projects that improve mobility and create more opportunities for people to walk, bike, and roll with confidence.
