Pilot Club of Macon We are the first Pilot Club founded in 1921 as a volunteer service organization for business and professional people.

Today, Pilot International has over 500 clubs and 25,000 members. We are proud sponsors of the Hutchcings Career Center Anchor Club. We have a dinner meeting at 6 pm on the first Tuesday of every month at the Pilot International Heritage Center located at 102 Preston Court in Macon, Georgia.

I hope that all of you are enjoying this spring like weather and getting ready for Macon's International Cherry Blossom festival. It will be a great treat for you . Please keep an upcoming activity of Pilot in mind. We will have a Safety Carnival in the Spring activity at the old Hutchings Career Center on Riverside Drive, next to red Lobster on April 22, 2017. This will involve several groups in our community who are emphasizing safety for not only the children of Bibb County but also for adults. Please contact us if you would like to participate. We will need volunteers and sponsors. Thanks in advance.

Please note that we have begun the foot ball season. It is a time for fum nut also a time when many young men playing the game will have concussions. Let us join in our efforts to promote brain safety in sports by continuing to lobby for more medical personnel on the field at games who will examine students before they go back in the game to avoid long term effects of concussions.

Please come and share with the Macon Pilot Club on September 24th for an English Tea and a fashion show with fashions supplied by Dillard's of Macon. The time for this event is 2-5. Tickets are $20 each and the funds will be used for fund our major projects of the year. If you would like to get tickets, please call (478)474-3543.

Please also note that September is Childhood Brain Cancer Awareness Month. To that end, our local Pilot Club will work with Joshus's Wish for their Walk Against childhood Cancer.

The Pilot Club is hosting the leadership training for the West Central region on Saturday, may 14th at 9:00 AM at Pilot International Headquarters. All participants will be given a tour of the building and grounds. We hope to see you there.

We are extremely sadden to report that our oldest member, Ida Lou Boutwell passed away. She was 100 years old and had been a Pilot for more than 30 years. Her services will be held on Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Macon Memorial Funeral Home in Macon, Georgia
