⚙️MADE HERE: Midwest Control Products

Sometimes, it's the smallest components that make a big difference. Midwest Control Products is part of the manufacturing community right here in Bushnell, Illinois, producing components and products that play an important role in larger systems and industries.

It's easy to overlook the work that happens behind the scenes, but that's exactly what makes manufacturing so important. Skilled workers. Specialized products. Local investment. Global connections.

This Manufacturing Month, we're celebrating the businesses that keep making, building and innovating right here at home.

⚙️Made here. Small components. Big impact.

🔩 MADE HERE: NTN Bower

Not everything manufactured in our community is something you'll see sitting on a store shelf. Sometimes, it's a component that helps something else work. Right here in Macomb, Illinois, NTN Bower manufactures roller bearings used in numerous things, ranging from cars to wind turbines and everything in between.

NTN-Bower is a great example of the important role local manufacturing plays in the larger supply chain. Their work in roller bearing manufacturing supports industries and products far beyond our community. It's a reminder that manufacturing isn't just about what we can see... It's about the people, precision, and products behind the things we rely on every day.

This Manufacturing Month, we're highlighting the manufacturers that help keep our local economy moving.

🏭 Made here. Used far beyond here.

🏈THROWBACK THURSDAY: 30 YEARS AGO, THE RAMS CAME TO MACOMB, ILLINOIS!🏈

Remember when Macomb was an NFL town? In 1996, Western Illinois University, City of Macomb, and MAEDCO teamed up to bring the St. Louis Rams Summer Training Camp to town.

What started as a two-year agreement turned into a remarkable nine-year partnership making Macomb the summer destination for Rams fans from near and far. And what a time it was… Rams legends Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk, Isaac Bruce, Torry Holt, and Orlando Pace were just some of the unforgettable names to be part of it all.

Autograph lines seemed endless. Crowds packed the stands. Rams blue and gold smattered the town. Restaurants, businesses, and hotels were buzzing. And then there was the 2000 Super Bowl rematch scrimmage against the Titans at WIU’s Hanson Field... Talk about a crowd!

All told, an estimated 200,000+ people visited Macomb during those nine summers. Not bad for a little town in Forgottonia. 😜

Catch WGEM tonight at 6PM for more! 📺What's YOUR favorite Rams training camp memory? 👇🏻Drop ‘em below!
