African Student Association

African Student Association African Student Association at WIU The African Student Association was established December, 1997. We also try to hold seminars from time to time on campus.

The aim of the ASA is to promote African culture through various projects, activities, and events to the campus and the Macomb communities. The organization is open to all who seek to know more about Africa. Events that we traditionally sponsor each year include the African Heritage Night which uses artifacts from all over Africa to tell the African story and Myths of Africa. Students can contact the Gwendolyn Brooks Cultural Center to learn meeting times.
