Today, it is with great sadness that I share the news of the passing of former Macomb High School Principal Ira Harris.
Mr. Harris dedicated a portion of his life to serving the students, faculty, and families of Macomb Public Schools. Throughout his leadership, he made a lasting impact on countless lives, helping to shape the future of generations of students who walked the halls of Macomb High School.
As President of the Macomb Alumni Association and a proud member of the Class of 2000, I know firsthand the influence that school leaders like Mr. Harris have on their communities. His commitment to education, his care for students, and his dedication to our school will not be forgotten.
On behalf of the Macomb Alumni Association, we extend our deepest condolences and prayers to Mr. Harris’s family, friends, former colleagues, and all those whose lives were touched by his leadership and service.
His legacy will live on through the many students he encouraged, the educators he worked alongside, and the community he faithfully served.
Rest in peace, Mr. Harris. Thank you for your leadership, your service, and the positive impact you made on Macomb and beyond.
Respectfully,
Scott W. Hawkins
