A few important things that make this bill one of the most comprehensive ma*****na reform bills in Congress to combat our racist, failed "war on drugs. "The MORE Act will:

- Decriminalize ma*****na on the federal level, removing it from the Controlled Substances Act of 1970.

- Tackle the racial disparities of drug prohibition head-on, making it not only a ma*****na reform bill but a racial justice bill as well.

- Expunge many past drug convictions and re-sentence people with ma*****na convictions.

- Include an excise tax that generates funds specifically to invest in the communities most harmed by ma*****na prohibition.
