Well said

Brothers, don't just TAKE the Degrees, STUDY them! LEARN them! What they mean! If not, you are just cheating yourself. You are paying for them, so learn well their lessons. You will then appreciate their truths, beauty, and deep significance and value to you. You'll be a better man, a happier man, a more useful citizen.

The Craftsman who gauges his life in accordance with Masonic Moral Law will be a better son, a more understanding husband and father, a more loyal friend, and he will know the real joy of living! Masonry is not merely a ritual, a Lodge, a club, it's a way of life — a plan for living!

NOVEMBER 2025 TRESTLEBOARD – UM64
Post sponsored by: Marv Roofing and Exteriors

Greetings, Brothers!

Well, I’m sure many of you are enjoying the fall season — but, maybe not so much the leaf raking 🍂🍁! Fall is easy on the eyes but not always on the back. Thankfully, the time ⌚️change hasn’t thrown me off too much — I hope it’s been kind to you all as well

As you all know, I practice and practice every year for Thanksgiving — and I have yet to perfect it! 🦃 I guess I just need more… a lot more practice haha

💪 Updates from The Craft

• Bro. Fred Jex is home and recovering well from knee surgery. Wishing him a full and steady recovery.

• Congratulations to our 2026 Officers! We look forward to seeing everyone in their new roles as we continue to build and strengthen our Lodge together. Coming of the heels of the UM64 20 Year Conclave, the Officers-Elect are already at work on exciting events for this coming year and big initiatives for the future of the Lodge and community

• Updates were provided for our upcoming Wine & Amuse-Bouche Tasting event. Don’t worry: it’s less fancy than it sounds and will be a lot of fun!• A portion of the proceeds will be earmarked for a soon to be announced local community impact org. • Tentatively scheduled for February 28, 2026, additional info and tix will be forthcoming

NOTE: Event sponsorship spots are filling quickly ! Comment below or DM if ur org or biz is interested in sponsoring a positive community impact

📢 Lodge Events & Announcements

We will be dark for the rest of the month, as we prepare for the holiday season 🦃🎄🎅 and upcoming Lodge installations

This year, our Installation of Officers will be a little different. Instead of holding it in December, it will take place on: Saturday, January 17, 2026

Please save the date — more details will follow and will be communicated with the brethren.

Also, after next month’s business meeting, Bro Mike Schwartz will give a short presentation on Leadership, expected to last about 30 minutes. This will be especially informative for our newly elected officers

🔹For the Good of the Craft

While our Lodge & membership are involved in many charitable & community assistance endeavors, we want to highlight the following effort. • Brought to the attention of the Lodge by Bro Jeff S, PM (Committee Chairman), was a widow in the community in need of assistance.

Having recently taken the mantle of widowed, completing foreclosure and nearly financially destitute, this matriarch set forth to rebuild what remained. • With the less/than-expected life insurance funds, she purchased a modular home in Shelby Twp, under the impression the roof had at least 3-5 good yrs left. • With events seemingly finally getting back on track, she continued to pick up the pieces of a shattered journey.

Even in her time of sorrow and distress, she wore the blessing and responsibility of mother and grandma with pride and fearlessness. • Her daughter, also falling on tough times, soon moved in with her two young children, creating a happy family unit under one roof. • That roof, however, proved not only to not have 5 yrs remaining, but barely 5 months. • Not unlike the love that poured in when this family reunited, the rain waters permeated and spread throughout the home’s interior.

Word reaching Jeff S and then our Lodge, swift action was approved and set in motion to extend a helping hand to this harrowing family. • In the coming days, before the harsh depths of Michigan winter set in, a new roof is being installed to the deteriorating side

This positive impact in our community wouldn’t be possible without the generous support and labor of Marv Roofing and Exteriors (tagged above as post sponsor), our partners on this project. Justin and the crew at Marv Roofing & Exteriors are handling the work of returning the house to a comfortable home, just in time for the holidays.

Thanks Justin and all Marv Roofing & Exteriors for your partnership in helping this family

NOTE: If you are a local org looking for a partner to make a positive impact on the community, or if know of someone in the community in of dire assistance, please comment below or DM

Today is the 273rd anniversary of George Washington's initiation or "making" as a Freemason. He was made an Entered Apprentice Mason at the age of twenty in the Lodge at Fredericksburg, Virginia, on November 4, 1752. He paid £2, 3 shillings, which would be approximately $500 today. At the Memorial, we honor him as America's foremost Freemason. Shown here is the Bible upon which Washington took his Masonic obligation, which is still maintained by Fredericksburg Lodge.

This year's Mason of the Year Award was a unique and particularly poignant one. Brother Dan Conrad was a 57 year Mason, and had recently served as Steward. Brother Dan worked diligently and fervently in that role, often being the first to arrive and the last to leave.

Brother Dan was a source of fellowship, levity, and practical wisdom within the Lodge. Always quick with a smile and a joke, Brother Dan was a pleasure to have in Lodge. In the bonds built in fellowship outside of Lodge, Brother Dan loved to relate stories of his time as a United States Navy pilot in Vietnam, and his extensive aviation career.

Brother Dan passed away unexpectedly in April, and he is profoundly missed. This award is a token of our esteem for him and a measure of our appreciation for all he did.

Accepting the award on his behalf is his son, Brother Chris Conrad.

UTICA-MACOMB LODGE #64 TRESTLEBOARD

Bros.,

Unfortunately, summer 🌞🌻😎 is slowly starting to wind down, time does fly by. It seemed like it was just the 4th of July 🎆🎇, now its getting a bit cool 🌬️here & there. Lodges are getting back to their regular schedules with degrees, practices, volunteer work & fun events

The joint Lodge picnic 🧺 🌭 was another success, with many brothers and families enjoying some good ol fashion picnic dishes 🍔🥗and fellowship . Many thanks to those individuals who assisted!

Please keep our Treasurer, Bro. Carl Boscarino Sr in your thoughts, as he is currently in the hospital with pneumonia and heart issues. We are all hoping for a speedy recovery

We will be having a Master Mason degree this coming Tuesday, September 9th at 7:30pm, dinner 🥘 to follow and will need assistance that evening. If you can make it out, it is greatly appreciated

There is also a School of Instruction set for Tuesday, September 23rd at Stony Creek Lodge #5, starting at 7pm. Officers are required to attend if can; bring your ritual book. This will be conducted by our Regional G. Lecturer David Hutton

The WM has asked to be noted that Hubbard-Winsor Lodge #420 is having a double MM° on Monday, October 20th at 7:30pm, they are asking for much needed assistance. This is their first MM in 15 yrs.

We'll, hope to see many of you next Tuesday for our Master's degree.

Fraternally,
Bum Cheol Han - PM, Secretary
