LASS Storm Team This page is part of L.A.S.S Lake Area Storm Spotters this is the Storm Team page. We will post pictures and video the same as we will in LASS.

This page is a branch of LASS Lake Area Storm Spotters this is the Mobile Spotting Division Page we will post pictures, videos, and updates just like we do in LASS and as we do in LASS. The team members will be spread out all of the lake area and will move to different locations as the storm moves through out the lake. This is a pilot program for spring of 2016 if it works out here at the lake the

n there will be LASS mobile spotters all over Missouri. All of the LASS Mobile spotters have taken the NWS storm spotting class and several are also SkyWarn storm spotters. We have a ham operator and several trained in first aid. No matter what the weather throws at us we will be ready for it.

This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of the Missouri
Ozarks and extreme southeast Kansas.
DAY ONE...Tonight.

Weather hazards expected...

Marginal hail risk.
Marginal thunderstorm wind damage risk.
Limited lightning risk.
Elevated excessive rainfall risk

DISCUSSION...

Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for severe thunderstorms tonight.
Hail to the size of golf balls and isolated damaging winds will be
the primary severe risks. There is also a elevated risk for flash
flooding in areas that receive multiple thunderstorms. A Flood
Watch has been issued for much of western Missouri and southeast
Kansas from 1 AM tonight through 7 PM Sunday morning.
DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday.

Slight (Level 2 of 5) to Enhanced (Level 3 of 5) risk for severe
thunderstorms Saturday and Saturday night. Damaging winds will be
the primary severe risk, with hail and brief tornadoes as
secondary hazards. The greatest potential for damaging winds will
occur late Saturday afternoon and Saturday night with a line of
thunderstorms.

Slight (Level 2 of 4) to Moderate (Level 3 of 4) risk for
Excessive Rainfall early Saturday into Sunday. This is due to
recent rains, elevated streamflows, and saturated soils.

The US National Weather Service Springfield Missouri is saying:
- Marginal (Level 1 of 5) risk for severe thunderstorms late
this evening and overnight. Elevated hail and isolated
damaging winds will be the primary severe risk.

- Slight (Level 2 of 5) to Enhanced (Level 3 of 5) risk for
severe thunderstorms Saturday evening and night. Damaging
winds will be the primary severe risk, with hail and brief
tornadoes as secondary hazards.

Heat index values between 95 and 105 degrees this afternoon may
pose a heat risk to vulnerable populations and those sensitive to

Gusty south-southwest winds 40 to 45 mph this morning for
locations west of Highway 65.

A line of storms will move through southeast Kansas and southwest
Missouri this afternoon and evening. Hail up to the size of golf balls
and wind gusts of 60 to 70 mph will be the primary hazards, with
