K9 Hero Guardians provides support for active and retired law enforcement K9's. All donations are tax-deductible.

To serve in assisting and locating additional funding to Michigan Law Enforcement agencies to supplement the training and equipment of their police service dogs, purchase new police service dogs, educate the public regarding police service dogs, establish funding for the best possible care for retired police service dogs, and to honor them when they pass away. Five years ago K9 Canjo was at MSU College of Veterinary Medicine and Veterinary Medical Center recovering from his spinal surgery. We started the K9 Canjo Memorial Fund to help with back issues for active and retired K9s.

We might have been able to prevent his surgery had we had spinal exrays done years before his surgery. K9s need dental exams. You can get your K9 spinal X-rays done while under for the dental exam. Canjo's Fund can help pay for the X-rays if your department is unable to cover the costs.

Canjo taught us so much and prevention can be so successful. MSU has a wonderful program for K9s. Please get your K9s spine X-rayed.

Canjo's life mattered and we will continue to tell his story.

While at the UPPetFestival, we met officer Kenneally and K9 Storm from the Escanaba Department of Public Safety. They are Escanaba’s newest K9 team. Shortly after the festival, we learned that Spike's K9 Fund was seeking donations to get a vest for Storm.

It is thanks to your ongoing support that we pledged and donated the full cost for Storm’s vest! Thank you for helping us help our K9 heroes. $3500 in your donations has gone to protect K9 Storm. Thank you for making that possible!

It’s a beautiful day to be outside! Currently working on sanding boards to restock our supply of string art. We’re getting really low - thanks to the amazing support we’ve been getting! This will help in the fundraising for the new Gladwin City Police Department K9 that we will be purchasing later this summer.

We’ve picked up a new event that we want to share with you. It’s June 27th in Bay City and is hosted by Remmie Art and Bay City Maker's Market. Due to space and time, we will only have a sampler platter of items in our booth. The next full set up event will be Frankenmuth Flower Festival, July 31-August 2.

Get outside and enjoy this amazing weather! 😎

That one time when K9 Canjo stole his dad’s doughnut when his head was turned. It was a Cops & Doughnuts - Clare City Bakery doughnut after all and was definitely worth stealing!

During one of the demos at Frankenmuth Dog Bowl, we wanted to take a few minutes to show our deepest appreciation to the organizers of Dog Bowl. Because of their generosity and welcoming arms, well over $150,000 has been raised for police K9’s since 2013. These donations came from Dog Bowl itself, our fundraising at the booth during the event, and networking that was done while participating in Dog Bowl.

One recent example of those donations at work - K9 Hero Guardians was able to donate K9 Diego to the West Branch Police Department using funds given by Dog Bowl last year. Without their support, so many K9 programs would not exist today.

So to Michael, Garrett, Jerry, Bethany, and all team members before and after - THANK YOU! Thank you for the time, effort, and dedication it took to make Dog Bowl the incredible event it is today. We are so honored to work with you and appreciate all you do for us.

Thank you, Michael, for not giving up on us when you asked for police K9 demos in 2013. It took us a couple years to get enough teams together to put on a good educational program, but once we got them, we didn’t look back!

Our time at the UPPetFestival has come to a close! Thank you, D&D Dog Dynamics and all your amazing volunteers and sponsors, for putting together such a fun weekend! It was so worth driving the trailer across the Mackinac Bridge! We look forward to next year!

🚨🚨 The UPPetFestival is now open!! The show runs until 6:00 today and again 10:00-4:00 tomorrow at the UP State Fairgrounds in Escanaba! It’s a beautiful day for lots of pet fun! Check out the UP Pet Festival’s page for lots of information on events and vendors. See you soon!
