At the Mackinac Arts Council, we believe that a thriving arts community is one where artists, organizations, and venues all contribute to the cultural life of our island. We’re proud to celebrate the many ways music and the arts enrich Mackinac Island.

Our Music in the Park concert series may be finished for the season, but that doesn’t mean the music stops! It’s Labor Day Jazz Weekend!

The Labor Day Jazz Concert Series at Grand Hotel will feature three exceptional artists over three nights:

🎶 Friday, September 4 | Joshua Redman Quartet
🎶 Saturday, September 5 | Delfeayo Marsalis
🎶 Sunday, September 6 | John Boutté

All performances are from 9:00–10:30 PM at the Grand Hotel Theatre.

Check it out... you won't be disappointed!

DID YOU KNOW? TERESA WRIGHT WAS IN SOMEWHERE IN TIME!

When you watch Somewhere in Time, you probably notice Christopher Reeve, Jane Seymour and Christopher Plummer. But look a little closer and you’ll spot another Hollywood legend: Academy Award–winning actress Teresa Wright.

Wright plays Laura Roberts, Elise McKenna's companion, who helps Richard Collier uncover the mystery of her.

And what a career she had! Wright won an Oscar for Mrs. Miniver and was also celebrated for unforgettable performances in The Little Foxes, The Pride of the Yankees, Alfred Hitchcock’s Shadow of a Doubt, and The Best Years of Our Lives.

By the time she appeared in Somewhere in Time in 1980, Teresa Wright was already a Hollywood legend.

Not bad for a little bit of movie magic on Mackinac Island.

Join us for a screening of Somewhere in Time today at 5pm! Free and Open to all.

Some students were beginners, some were refreshing their talents, but everyone had a great time! Many thanks to Peg, Mackinac State Historic Parks and Darcy Brodeur Bunker!!
