2027 ORATORICAL CONTEST

The information for the 2027 Oratorical Contest is now available. The State Contest will be on February 20, 2027 at the Meridian City Hall, Meridian, ID. This is a great program and opportunity for students to earn scholarship money. Please spread the word on this to the schools in your communities.

Posted here are examples of the necessary information for contestants and the Chairman’s Guide. These are one-page examples. Some of the documents are multiple pages. Please request printed copies or electronic files through private messaging.

FRIDAY NIGHT BINGO
This is Raffle week!
In Remembrance of 9/11, an additional raffle ticket will be given to anyone wearing patriotic colors, red, white, and blue.

Additionally, every bingo card winner can choose an item from the raffle table.

The Boise VA Medical Center Food Pantry is at risk of closing down!Donations of food are needed (see list below)!

We would like to remind our veterans and community that the Boise VAMC food pantry is not supported financially by the government. It is entirely supported through donations and volunteers.

We ask that only those who truly need the assistance collect food from the food pantry. There are many unfortunate veterans served who rely on the help.

If you are able to help non-perishable food that is not expired is needed. Please see examples below.

Please bring donations to Bldg. 85A at the Boise VA campus. You can also call for more questions at 208-422-1175.

• Canned Fruit or Applesauce (Regular, lite or packed in water)
• Canned Vegetables (Regular or reduced sodium)
• Canned Chicken
• Canned Tuna
• Canned Roast Beef
• Canned Chili
• Canned Ravioli/Pasta
• Canned Beef Stew
• Canned Beans
• Cold Cereal (Boxed or large bags)
• Instant Brown Rice
• Instant Noodles (Top Raman)
• Peanut Butter (Please no glass jars)
• Jelly (Regular or sugar Free)
• Pasta Sauce (Canned is preferred, please no glass jars)
• Boxed Dry Spaghetti
• Oatmeal
• Snack Items-granola bars, chips, crackers, etc

• Frozen meat
• Hamburger Helper
• Spam
• Please no expired items or home-canned food. Please check the dates before donating!
• Pull-top cans/foods are always appreciated as some veterans are homeless and lack can openers
