Community Caring Collaborative The CCC creates opportunities for families through agency collaboration.

Our mission is to nurture and sustain collaboration that expands resources and increases hope, health, and well-being for people in Washington County, Maine. The challenges of poverty, trauma, substance abuse, major health issues, the process of aging, or other factors can make people vulnerable. Our focus is on increasing awareness of the impacts of those challenges, removing barriers to well-being that diminish potential and hope, and increasing opportunities to help people reach their dreams.

Calais Family Connection Day is coming up!Join Washington County Community College and KinCorps on Saturday, October 24, from 10 AM–1 PM for a FREE, fun-filled day bringing families together!
Families with children ages 5–13 are invited to enjoy:
🏃 Obstacle courses and a scavenger hunt led by WCCC athletes!
🎨 Creative art activities with local artist Kristine Gordon!
🍕 Pizza, prizes, and family fun!
This is a great opportunity to connect with other families, make new friends, and celebrate our Calais community! 💙💚

The CCC has been removing barriers for individuals, youth, and families for many years in Washington County. We do our best when our work is informed by you!

We invite youth and families to share their input on experiences accessing a driver's permit/license and barriers that may limit that. We want to hear what resources and support will make it easier!

Please join us for a feedback session (two dates/locations available)

Monday October 19th, 4-5pm Washington Academy library, East Machias
OR
Tuesday October 20th, 4-5pm Sunrise County Economic Council, Calais

$50 stipend and $25 gas card (per family) is provided. We'll have pizza too!

Family Harvest Meal: The CCC has made the decision not to hold our annual Family Harvest Meal that usually coincides with Trick or Treat Down Main Street in Machias. We have loved every minute of this event which brought us into the heart of the greater Machias Community each year around Halloween for seven years. We've served over 4,000 meals in those seven years and are grateful to all the community members, sponsors and organizational partners who volunteered their time, resources, and talents to help us stage this event, as well as our dedicated, amazing caterer, Angie's Comfort Kitchen. The CCC is coming up on our 20th year of operation and we are focusing our time and resources on assessing and addressing current and future priorities for Washington County. We would be delighted to transition this event to another organization excited about continuing the tradition of a community-wide Family Harvest Meal. We have supplies and information that we're happy to share.
