Congratulations 2024 Gold Award Girl Scout, Katelyn Unke! 💚💛

For Katelyn’s Gold Award project, she renovated and revamped a memorial garden at North High School in Akron. By collecting donations and organizing a team, to then re-mulching, planting, and beautifying this memorial garden, Katelyn created a space to commemorate the young lives lost in Akron due to violence, su***de, and more. She is passionate about making change for the ongoing mental health crisis in America. Katelyn was inspired to create a place of natural beauty for community members and people beyond, who are welcome to sit in this peaceful park to reflect on life, and honor those that have died.
