We are an all volunteer Catholic faith based youth movement, offering a traditional and exciting program for boys and girls with the Federation of North-American Explorers (FNE). This "National" page highlights the development and excitement of our growing movement both in the USA and in Canada.

Stories are shared. Songs begin. Someone starts laughing — and before long, everyone joins in.

These may seem like the simplest moments of camp.

But often, they're the ones that become memories.

This is part of belonging: a place around the fire and people to share it with.

Our FNE leaders in Montreal — brought together by a commitment to serve, guide and help form the young people entrusted to their care.

FNE may be lived locally, but no leader serves alone.

We learn from one another, support one another and continue growing together.

He became a leader because his son wanted to join FNE.

What began as a way to support his son's journey became something more — an opportunity to help boys grow in adventure, spirituality, character and faith.

For this FNE leader, one of the most meaningful parts is being able to teach the faith through God's creation — and then watching the boys respond, grow in confidence and develop into the young men they are becoming.

Sometimes leadership begins with simply wanting to be there for your child.

And along the way, you discover how much you can give to others too.

More than a flag, the Baussant is a sign of what FNE Explorers are called to live.

Its black and white fields represent the struggle between darkness and light — the daily choice to reject what is wrong and to live in the light of Christ.

At its centre, the red eight-pointed Cross and golden fleur-de-lis remind us that the victory of light over darkness begins with Christ and His sacrifice on the Cross.

For FNE Explorers and leaders, the Baussant also carries a personal meaning: it is before this banner that they solemnly make their Promise.

A beautiful sign of faith, commitment, and the desire to bring Christ into our lives and into the world around us. ✝️
