County Commissioner James Bennett was an amazing person and our SWAT youth enjoyed getting to present to***co-free policies which Mr. Bennett fully supported. Please keep Mr. Bennett and family in your prayers.

It is with deep sorrow and a heavy heart that the Baker County Board of County Commissioners announce the tragic passing of County Commissioner James G. Bennett. Our community has lost a dedicated public servant, a cherished colleague, and a well-respected leader.
In this time of immense grief, we find comfort in knowing that when James closed his eyes for the last time in his earthly body, he opened them again in heaven, wrapped in the loving arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ.
Commissioner Bennett’s impact on Baker County was immeasurable. His integrity, compassion, and unwavering commitment to this community will forever remain a part of our county’s history. We are grateful for his years of service and for the steady sense of responsibility and service he demonstrated throughout his time in office.
We are in deep, continuous prayer for his beloved wife, Kim, children, Colton and Cloey, and all of his extended family. We ask our community to join us in lifting them up during this heartbreaking time. We pray that his family feels the overwhelming love and support of this community as they walk through this unimaginable loss.
Commissioner Bennett will be profoundly missed, but his legacy of faith, service, and love for Baker County will endure.

Had an empowering meeting this morning with the Baker County middle school SWAT club. They shared powerful stories of close people to them that have suffered from To***co and Ni****ne products. These youth are eager to learn and be the next generation to stand against to***co and Va**ng.

The Baker County High School SWAT club convened a productive meeting, during which they designed recruitment posters for display throughout the school, and created a pledge board for an upcoming activity scheduled to take place next week. The meeting also included a discussion on the dangers of va**ng. If you know someone attending Baker County High School who is interested in joining SWAT and the Explorers club, please reach out. Our SWAT clubs, in conjunction with the Explorers, conducted their annual park cleanup this morning, focusing on Memorial Park and Veterans Park. They demonstrated exceptional diligence and commitment, and we appreciate their efforts in maintaining our community's beauty. Additionally, the event included the collection of to***co and v**e products.

SWAT held its annual recruitment drive and garnered an impressive response, with over 20 students signing up. We anticipate a successful school year.
