UPDATE — POTENTIAL GOLF COURSE DEVELOPMENT on LOWDER —

The developer, Danhour Group, is requesting delay of re-zoning vote scheduled for this Tuesday, June 13. No reason provided for wanting delay. City commissioners were planning to vote to change zoning to RS1 which would be beneficial to Baker. Without this change the developer can build 360+ new homes resulting in LOTS of additional traffic on Lowder.

Please make plans to attend the City Commissioners meeting, 6pm, June 13. This potential development will effect every citizen in the county - schools, crime, roads, traffic, infrastructure, etc. — with Ann Watts and 7 others.

Did you know that the city of Macclenny will have an election next year? I found out last week and I am passing this information on.
The Mayor and 2 Commissioners are up for re-election. This is a nonpartisan race, the qualifying fee is around $60 (qualifying early July) and the election is early September.
They make about $600 a month, not sure about the benefits.
You must live in the City to run.
Interested? Call Chris Milton for more information or city manager Mike Griffis.

Meeting b4 the Meeting.

1114 Copper Creek Dr to discuss potential golf course development.
City Commissioners meeting the following day - 6pm.

Let’s talk street parking….

Heritage Oaks lots are RS2 (75’ lots). This allows 45’ from the edge of the house to the road. 2 cars can easily park in the driveway. Copper Creek has 90’ lots (RS1).

The proposed golf course development, using the current PUD, will have 60’ lots. This will mean that if the homeowner has 2 cars there will not be enough room to park 2 cars in the driveway, basically making it necessary to park in the street.

Street parking will make it very difficult for school buses, garbage trucks, fire/rescue vehicles etc to navigate.
