California Native Vote Project

California Native Vote Project Our mission is to achieve equity and justice for Native American children, families and communities by increasing Native civic participation and power.

Event Registration Links:
https://tr.ee/NunEVGCdry We want to register Native American Voters in California! To see change in our communities, politicians and policy makers need to know that Native Americans vote. By voting, we have a voice on issues that affect our families and communities – whether it’s health care, education, housing, well paying jobs. All of those issues are affected by voting

. This project is a start of a larger effort. We want to build a network of Native American voters throughout the state. Whether it’s Indian Child Welfare, sacred sites protections, or making sure that Native American curriculum is in schools – voting is essential. Questions? Want to Volunteer? [email protected]

The California Native Vote Project is part of a statewide initiative and is a nonpartisan effort.

Building power starts with investing in communities and trusting the people closest to the challenges and the solutions.

We're proud to see our Executive Director, Chrissie Castro, featured in this conversation on community-led change, including the importance of , self-determination, and ensuring Native voices help shape the decisions that impact our communities.

How will the next Governor of California work with Native communities to address key issues? We asked that question directly to candidates.

CNVP, as part of a network of six statewide Native-led organizations serving tribal communities across California, invited the eight leading gubernatorial candidates to submit a video response addressing six critical topic areas: foundational commitments to Native communities, Truth & Healing Council implementation, Native health, Native education, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Peoples, and tribal sovereignty and engagement.

All candidates were extended the same invitation and list of questions. We received a video response from one candidate, and we are sharing it in our commitment to ensuring Native voters have the information they need to make informed decisions at the ballot box.

Representation starts with being informed.
