BGMS PTSA will be holding our PTSA general meeting and elections on April 16, 2026, at 6:30pm, just before the start of the school’s Title I meeting.

Attached you will find our candidate slate with the nominees for our executive board positions, as well as the meeting flyer.

In order to conduct business, we must have at least 15 members present, so your attendance is very important. We encourage everyone to come out and participate in our last meeting of this school year.

Thank you for your continued support of our students. We’ll see you in April!

As National PTA observes Take Your Family to School Week, we’re reminded of the vital connection between families and schools — and the legacy of Rev. Jesse L. Jackson, who championed strong family–school partnerships.

Rev. Jackson understood that education is more than a classroom experience; it is a pathway to dignity and hope. Throughout his career, he pushed for more equitable public school funding to ensure that children in impoverished communities had access to the same opportunities and resources as their peers in wealthier districts.

He also argued that increased support for education programs — paired with engaged families and empowered communities — was critical to creating opportunities for young people who might otherwise be drawn into the criminal justice system.

As we celebrate families showing up, engaging and partnering with schools this week, we also honor Rev. Jackson’s enduring belief: when families, educators and communities work together, we build brighter futures for every child.

Happy Safer Internet Day! 🛜

Safer Internet Day is an international education and awareness-raising effort, celebrated in over 100 countries! The Smart Talk is a free tool that helps students of all grades and their families have positive, proactive technology conversations and set healthy digital limits together.

If we want our kids to be safe, kind and responsible online, we need to have ongoing conversations with them about:

-When and how they use their devices
-Ways to keep themselves safe
-How they are representing themselves online

Check out the free The Smart Talk website for surveys and conversation starters with your child, no matter their age!

Let’s get started The Smart Talk will ask your family to answer a series of technology questions together on four key topics. Each topic takes about 10 – 15 minutes to complete, depending on the conversations you have. We encourage you to break up the time in order to have healthy conversations ...
