Better Together: Lions and Leos Keeping Lyons Beautiful! 🏔️✨

The Lyons Lions Club and the Lyons Middle Senior High Leos teamed up this past weekend for our highway cleanup. We’re so proud of our students for stepping up and helping us keep our corner of Colorado clean and green.

LYONS LIONS EYE GLASS DRIVE!

A reminder that the Lyons Lions club is having an eye glass drive through the end of April, ( we do have permanent boxes in town for year around collection!)

You can find eye glass boxes at:

St. Vrain Market
Lyons Community Library
Lyons Elementary
Lyons High school

We have also added Lumber Liquor to the collection sites. They have been a major sponsor for a number of years!

We accept:

All eye Glasses,
Readers, prescription, sunglasses.
Eye Glass cases.
HEARING AIDES.
Old lenses and old frames!

We are now accepting no longer used CONTACT LENSES.

If they are laying around in a drawer or a basket! We want them!

Give the Gift of sight to someone!

A reminder! The Lyons Lions Club is having an eye glass drive through the end of April. We do have permanent boxes throughout the year. However, we want to have a push to get those old eye glasses you have stored and rehabilitate them.

🦁 Happy New Year to all from the Lyons Lions Club! 🎉
​We hope you had a great 2025 and hope 2026 will be even better.

​⛳ A Look Back at 2025
The Lyons Lions Club had another fantastic year with our 31st annual golf tournament in early August, which is the club’s main fundraiser. We want to thank all the businesses that supported the golf tournament with hole sponsorships, and a special thanks goes out to our biggest sponsors:
• Cemex (our largest contributor)
• Lumber Liquor
• Forked Pine Consultants

​In late August, we also had a fundraiser at the Spirit Hound Distillery in Lyons in partnership with Cemex, benefiting cancer research and the Colorado Eye Bank.

​🎂 Looking Ahead to 2026: Our 80th Anniversary!
The Lyons Lions Club is excited for 2026 because we will be celebrating our 80th year and being the oldest club in Lyons! Very few buildings in town are that old, and even fewer residents can remember back 80 years!
​The club will be holding a special event to celebrate this monumental occasion with a fundraiser. We would love to hear from Lyons residents regarding any ideas about what our fundraiser should support. Please get in touch with one of our members (or comment below!) if you have any suggestions. Just a few ideas that we have discussed include:
• The Lyons Museum
• Lyons Food Pantry
• Lyons Volunteers

​🤝 How We Served in 2025
In the past year, the Lyons Lions Club has been proud to sponsor and support:
• 🦦 The Josh the Otter water safety program for Lyons Elementary kids
• 🎗️ CU Cancer Research & the Colorado Eye Bank
• 🦮 Guide Dog Training
• 🚒 A donation to a fundraiser in Nederland, CO in support of those who lost businesses in the fire
• 🌲 A donation to Lyons Volunteers for planting new trees in the Stone Canyon fire area
• 👓 Continued help with eye exams and glasses for those in need with an 80540 zip code
• 🎓 Three scholarships to graduating Lyons High School seniors
• 🦁 The Lyons LEO Club (a youth service group)
• 🛣️ Highway 7 Road Clean-up (twice a year)

Hello, Lyons friends and neighbors! 🦁

Got old eyeglasses, cases, or hearing aids taking up space in a drawer? The Lyons Lions Club can put them to great use!

We have two convenient donation boxes in town:

👓 St. Vrain Market, Deli & Bakery (Look for the box on the counter by the front window)

📚 Lyons Community Library

We are collecting eyeglasses, eyeglass cases, and hearing aids.

How Your Donation Helps
Wondering what happens to your donation? Your generosity gives the priceless gift of sight and sound!

Through the Lions Recycle For Sight program, your donated eyeglasses are collected, cleaned, sorted by prescription, and distributed to children and adults in need in low-income communities around the world. Your old pair could help a child learn to read or an adult regain their livelihood.

Similarly, donated hearing aids are refurbished and provided to those with hearing impairments who could not otherwise afford them, helping them connect with the world and their loved ones.

Hi Lyons Community!
Your Lyons Lions Club is collecting used eyeglasses and hearing aids right now! Do you have any old pairs lying around in a drawer? Don't throw them away – donate them!
These items will be cleaned, refurbished, and given to people in need, helping them experience the world more clearly.
