Oaks Canyon Parents!
We have some changes this year for Oaks Youth. Jeff and I were realizing that our time and energy resources were becoming depleted, so sadly we have needed to trim back how we are serving this year. These are the following changes:
1) We are only leading the Bible Quiz program, no longer the entire youth group. We would love to have your youth join this fantastic group!
2) Our location will be at our home in Gates.
3) Quiz practices will be on Sundays from 7-8pm. (No dinner, but some light snacks will be available)
We are studying 1 & 2 Corinthians. We meet once a week on Sunday nights at our house from 7-8pm and study 1-2 chapters a week and quiz on it/talk about it.
Once a month (usually first Saturday of the month, sometimes Friday as well if it a longer distance) we have a quiz tournament we take the teams to and they compete and have a ton of fun. It usually goes to regionals and sometimes even nationals by the end of the year!
We use the NIV version and have scripture portions available for FREE for study.
Our first tournament is a little early this year (September 6th). Because of that, we are planning a couple of pre-year practices that are optional for Wednesday 27th and September 3rd, from 7-9pm.
We would really love to have any of you youth join! We appreciate your understanding.
