TRAIL CLOSURES: All open space areas west of Hwy 36, including Rabbit Mountain, will be closed on Friday, Dec. 19, due to the significant wind event and extreme fire danger forecast by the National Weather Service. Visitors are highly discouraged from using parks, trails, and open space areas in the remainder of the county.

Please stay safe!

On Friday, Dec. 19, we ask that people stay home and off the roads. Wind conditions will be dangerously high, especially in areas west of Broadway in Boulder and along the foothills.

There will be significant debris in the roads, including downed limbs and power lines, and some traffic signals will be out. Wind and fire conditions can escalate quickly. Police, Fire and Paramedics will benefit from less traffic on the roads so that they can respond more quickly to emergencies and life safety situations.

Thank you for staying home and off the roads if you can, in an effort to support emergency operations and safety in our community.

Heads up! The Lyons Fire Protection District will host the TREE LIMB DROP OFF EVENT on MAY 10th. Watch for the official notification from the LFPD in the next weeks.
