Yesterday was a beautiful reminder that when a community comes together with a purpose, lives are changed ❤️.

We hosted our second annual lunch with the purpose at FBC Lyons and we are incredibly thankful for everyone who made the day special!

From the yummy specials from silverware’s barbecue to the delicious cookies from Mary’s makings, our guest enjoyed a wonderful lunch while hearing the heart behind an Imago Dei Missions.

Our guest speaker, Lash, a foster parent shared her family’s story and the impact IDM has had on their foster care journey. Hearing her story so openly was a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do.

After lunch, guess were invited to tour the mission house and see firsthand the place where foster adoptive kinship and guardianship families are welcomed, loved and provided items such as clothing, toiletries and so much more all at no cost to them.

We are especially thankful for the pastors, community members, board members and volunteers who joined us. And to our amazing volunteers who came early, served, welcome guest and help make the day possible – thank you! We could not do this ministry without you.

Ashley, Mandy and Imago Dei Missions Board of Directors are incredibly grateful for each person who took time out of their day to join us, listen, learn, and support the mission.

This is what happens when a community comes together with a purpose. And we are so thankful to be part of a community that believes every child deserves to be seen, loved and cared for.

For many children in foster care, kinship care, and adoptive families, friendship isn't just about having someone to play with—it's about finding people who make them feel safe, valued, and like they truly belong.

Today, we're reminded that kindness doesn't have to be complicated. A smile. An encouraging word. An invitation to play. A helping hand. A simple act of friendship can leave a lasting impact on a child's heart.

At Imago Dei Missions, we are thankful for a community that chooses compassion every day. Whether you volunteer, donate, pray, or simply show kindness to a child who needs it most, you are helping create a place where hope grows and hearts heal. Friendship is one of God's sweetest gifts. Sometimes the greatest act of kindness is simply showing up, listening, encouraging, and reminding someone they are loved.

At Imago Dei Missions, we are blessed to see friendship lived out every day—through our incredible volunteers, generous donors, church partners, and the families we have the privilege of serving. Together, we're building more than a mission... we're building a community where people know they are seen, valued, and never alone.
