The Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony at the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center brought together an inspiring group of community leaders, Rotarians, faith leaders, and advocates dedicated to building peace and connection in our community.

The Rotary Club of Lynnwood was honored to welcome Rotarians from across the district, including keynote speaker Catherine Gibson, Rotary Past District 5030 Governor and inaugural Chair of the Rotary District 5030 Peacebuilder Committee, whose message highlighted the importance of peace-building through service and community partnerships.

Special thanks also to Rotary 5030 District Governor Elect Patricia Chapman and Duvall Rotary Past President Mike Chapman for their participation and support of this meaningful event.

Community reflections were shared by Ruth Kagi, former Washington State Legislator and member of the Steering Committee for the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center; Lynnwood Mayor George Hurst; Pastor Hector Garfias-Toledo; and Joel Feldman of Volunteers of America Western Washington.

Lynnwood Rotary President Shannon Sessions shared:
β€œToday, as Rotarians, we dedicate more than a Peace Pole β€” we dedicate a lasting symbol of unity, kindness, and hope for this community. This beautiful project became possible because people came together with a shared vision, especially our Barbara Lindberg, whose heart and leadership helped create a true legacy through both the Peace Pole and the LNC playground. Rotary is at its best when we work together in service, and that spirit is what makes today so meaningful.

May this Peace Pole remind everyone who passes by that peace begins with us.”

Together, speakers and guests celebrated the message β€œMay Peace Prevail on Earth” in multiple languages, reflecting the diversity, unity, and hope represented throughout our community.

Thank you to everyone who attended and helped make this ceremony such a meaningful reflection of Service Above Self.

One of the most meaningful moments of the Peace Pole Dedication Ceremony at the Lynnwood Neighborhood Center was hearing members of our community come together to share the message:

β€œMay Peace Prevail on Earth.”

The words were spoken in English, Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, and Korean, reflecting the rich diversity, unity, and spirit of inclusion that make our community so special.

Children, families, community leaders, and guests participated in the ceremony by placing soil around the base of the Peace Pole, symbolizing our shared commitment to peace, understanding, and hope for future generations.

Thank you to everyone who joined the Rotary Club of Lynnwood for this inspiring community event and helped make the ceremony such a beautiful reflection of Service Above Self.
