What if nature could do most of the work?

In this Family Enrichment Night presentation, Blake Poland explores regenerative principles and the ways they can improve soil, food quality, and plant health.

Blake shares practical steps individuals and families can take, from starting a garden and improving soil to learning more about where our food comes from, and encourages us to recognize the role each of us can play in creating positive change.

On Labor Day weekend, Family Adventures Northwest held a successful program bringing together parents and children for a fun character building challenge, the "one-rope bridge".

Participants learned how to create a "swiss seat", secured the one-rope bridge to 2 trees together, and successfully crossed it by securing caribiners and gliding down the rope with the guidance of instructors and parents.

Some of the learning points that were shared afterwards included:
- One girl was scared to go across the bridge but watched the other kids go on it. Then her dad set up her harness showing that he was in this with her, and this gave her the confidence to climb across the bridge.
- Another boy wasn't pay much attention to the knots and preparations to go on the bridge. He really wanted to go but after an instructor inspected his harness, he found he had to do it over again the right way. He learned that he needs to prepare and be patient before doing what he wants.
- We learned the importance of having role models that had capacity in the activity, to instill confidence in the first-timers.

"Imagine stepping away from electricity, cell service, and running water, trading screens and schedules for the open expanse of the Montana wilderness. For many modern families, the thought of dropping into an environment stripped of everyday conveniences sounds daunting, if not impossible. When my family recently attended a wilderness workshop out West, the transition was anything but seamless..."
