Please stay off the roads to let DPW and public safely do their jobs. Visibility is a serious issue at this time and residents and vehicles should stay away from plow trucks and use extreme caution and assume you may not be visible to drivers. Children must not be in streets or near plows.
Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Dear Residents,

As a major storm approaches our region, the Lynnfield DPW asks for your cooperation with the following:

- Snow Removal Timeline: Please be patient as we manage what is expected to be a multi-day cleanup. Our priority is maintaining main roads for public safety, followed by side streets. Sidewalks and corners will take longer, with school routes prioritized. Our team will be working around the clock for several days to ensure the community is safe.
- Snow Disposal: Do not blow or plow snow back into the streets. This applies to both residents and private contractors. This practice is illegal and creates significant safety hazards for you and your neighbors.
- Hydrants and Catch Basins: If you live near a hydrant or catch basin, please consider assisting us by keeping these areas clear and accessible if you are able.
- Safety Warning: Unlike previous storms with lighter snow, this event is expected to produce heavy, wet snow. Please use extreme caution while shoveling and call 911 immediately in the event of a medical emergency.
- Driveways and Road Widening: We understand the frustration of snow being pushed back into driveways. However, with continuous plowing required for up to 48 hours, this is unavoidable. To keep roads as wide as possible given existing snowbanks, multiple passes will be necessary. We apologize for this inconvenience as our drivers work 24/7 to clear the town.
- Trash will be delayed one day. Please do not put trash out until Tuesday Morning.

Thank you for your assistance and patience.
