A Healthy Lynnfield High School Youth Council Brings “Trusted Adults” Initiative to Third Grade Students; Selected Student Artwork to Be Displayed Across Town
LYNNFIELD, MA — The High School Youth Council of A Healthy Lynnfield recently visited third grade classrooms at Huckleberry Hill School and Summer Street School to lead an engaging and age-appropriate presentation on the importance of identifying trusted adults.
The presentation focused on helping students recognize the caring adults in their lives they can turn to for support, guidance, and safety. Youth Council members shared examples of trusted adults and led discussion with students about the importance of seeking help when needed.
Following the presentation, students participated in a “Trusted Adult” poster contest, where they were invited to draw a picture of their trusted adult. Two students were selected from each third grade classroom for their submissions, and their artwork will be featured in a town-wide display.
The selected posters will be showcased at both schools, as well as at Town Hall, the Lynnfield Public Library, and additional community locations throughout Lynnfield.
“This initiative empowers our youngest students to think about the adults who support them and reinforces the message that help is always available,” said Diana DeLeo, Program Director of A Healthy Lynnfield. “It was a meaningful experience for both the high school leaders and the third graders.”
The Trusted Adults initiative is part of A Healthy Lynnfield’s broader mission to promote youth mental health, strengthen protective factors, and build connections between students and supportive adults across the community.
