Happy National Nonprofit Day!
Today we celebrate all of the people who contribute to our impact; our funders, sponsors, volunteers, staff, consultants, board, participants, their families, and friends.
We can talk about the numbers another time - today we look at the smiles, books, connections, and all of the things that come out of the work we do and those who do it. We know why we do it - we see the impact that it makes; but the reason why you do the work is different than the feeling you get from doing the work - in these photos you can feel futures becoming brighter; that's the feeling we get from the work we do.
Literacy is opportunity and we see the joy of all the opportunities we help to create.

¡Feliz Día Nacional de las Organizaciones sin Fines de Lucro!
Hoy celebramos a todas las personas que contribuyen a nuestro impacto: nuestros fundadores, patrocinadores, voluntarios, personal, consultores, junta directiva, participantes, sus familias y amigos.
Podríamos volver a hablar de cifras, pero hoy nos centramos en las sonrisas, los libros, las conexiones y todo lo que surge de nuestra labor y de quienes la llevan a cabo. Sabemos por qué lo hacemos —vemos el impacto que generamos—, pero la razón por la que realizamos este trabajo es distinta a la sensación que nos produce hacerlo; en estas fotos se percibe cómo se iluminan los futuros: esa es la sensación que nos deja nuestra labor.
La alfabetización es sinónimo de oportunidades, y somos testigos de la alegría que generan todas esas oportunidades que ayudamos a crear.
