Youth On the Hill Day, Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless Currently nearly 6,000 youth experiencing homelessness are unaccompanied by a parent or guardian in the Commonwealth.

The Massachusetts Coalition for the Homeless is organizing a Youth on the Hill Day, to be held on February 13, 2013 to raise awareness for and advocate on behalf of the Commonwealth’s unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness. We’d like to bring together a great mix of youth and youth advocates from across the state to promote legislation that would enhance program options and housing opportun

ities for this heterogeneous and unique population. Support for this legislative intervention will endorse new state investments into solution-focused housing, support services, and prevention strategies for unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness in Massachusetts. Many of these youth were forced to leave home due to recently coming out as le***an, gay, bisexual, or tr*******al, announcing a pregnancy, or due to situations of domestic violence and/or substance abuse in their home. Unaccompanied youth experiencing homelessness are in need of committed supporters, please consider joining us in any way your organization can.
