In July of 2025, there was a wonderful International Lions Convention in Orlando, Florida. The President of Lynn Haven Lions attended (and assisted as part of the hotel hospitality team!) A.P. Singh from India was installed as the new Lions International President. He gave a speech where he spoke about the "ovarian lottery." What is that? That means where, and how, you are born in this world. Did you win the lottery--or not? Some people are born into circumstances of privilege, because they are born into a wealthy country, or family, or both. Others in this world are born into poor families and/or poor countries with few or no resources. President Singh made the point that if you won the "lottery," you have an obligation and duty to help those who are less fortunate. What can you do? You can contact a local Lions Club to join. Lynn Haven has a club, and so does Panama City. They serve local, national and international populations. The Lions assist people with vision and hearing needs, in addition to addressing diabetes, world hunger, and much more. The Lynn Haven Lions have a focus on vision and hearing needs as well as literacy. They maintain a "Little Library" on Georgia Avenue near Lynn Haven Elementary. Lynn Haven Lions would like to sincerely thank Wink Optical in Panama City for being our eyecare partners! They have helped us assist several disadvantaged people in receiving new eyeglasses and eye exams. If you need new glasses, go check them out at the Wink clinic located in the office area behind Tudor's Biscuit World on 23rd Street. Dr. Brenda Wainwright is the best. 😁 The kindness and philanthropy of the staff is most appreciated.

We had our drawing in April for this wonderful basket! It was won by Margo, a beautiful lady who works at Victoria's Last Bite. She was so excited! And we were excited for her. Proceeds from the raffle will go to help others in our community via our various projects--literacy, vision and hearing assistance, and more.

This is our new raffle basket to benefit the Lynn Haven Lions! It is a $1-a-ticket donation or get 6 tickets for $5. Proceeds will go towards assisting people in our community with hearing and vision needs as well as children's literacy efforts and other humanitarian causes.

The Lions are selling tickets through April, with the final drawing to be held 4/16/25. Tickets will be sold Saturday 3/8/25 from 7 AM to 12 noon at the LHHS rummage sale at Roberts Hall and afterward by purchasing from any Lynn Haven Lions Club member.

This beautiful Springtime gardening-theme basket contains: a $50 gift certificate to Victoria's Last bite; $10 gift card to ACE Hardware; a bottle of wine; wine glasses; garden tools; a watering can; gardening gloves; vegetable and flower seeds; a floral painting by Vickie Cook; garden-theme decorations; seed starter kits; and more!
