Hello alumni and Happy New Year,
I am Steve Cormier, a proud member of the Lyndon State College class of 1982 and current President of the VTSU Lyndon Alumni Council.
This past year one of our key focuses has been on expanding our membership, and I am happy to report that we have made progress. When I assumed the role in January 2025, we had just nine members. Since then, we have increased our numbers to fifteen. We are still on the lookout for 5 more Alumni to join us so we can reach our goal of twenty members.
We have 2-year and 3-year seats available that could potentially lead to longer terms on the Alumni Council if you find yourself enjoying the experience. We are looking for energetic, creative, and motivated individuals who have a passion for the Lyndon campus. Our Alumni Council holds meetings via Zoom throughout the year, so you don’t need to be in New England to participate. Our members also participate in various committees, including Awards, Fundraising, and Communications, which also meet remotely.
In 2026, we are excited to plan another Fall event, aiming for a much larger scale than the one we hosted in 2025. To make this happen and to achieve even more, we need your support. You’ll be hearing more from me and the council as we start to plan this event.
I have been a member of the council on and off since 2010, and my love for Lyndon is shared by our other members. If you are interested in serving your college on our council, regardless of whether you identify with Lyndon Teachers College, Lyndon State College, Northern Vermont University, or VTSU Lyndon, please reach out to me, and we can arrange a time to chat.
Please email the following information to me,
Name
Graduation year
Major
Town and state you live in now.
To be clear, you do not need to live locally. Many of our meetings are remote with a few exceptions. I hope that you’ll consider joining us.
Thank you for your consideration, and Go Lyndon!
Steve Cormier
