Robin Hill Nature Preserve

Robin Hill Nature Preserve 45 acres of rare and interesting trees, gardens and plants. William A. Smith planted over 250 varieties of trees on the land he called
Robin Hill.

He and his wife Mary, son George and daughter Marion built the
manor house on the hill. Marion Smith lived there for most of her 90 years,
tending the gardens, watching the birds, and welcoming guests. Now the
next generation is developing Robin Hill as a place where people can come to
learn, enjoy the trees, conduct research, and appreciate nature.

Once a year, a forester from NY State visits us to check on our six champion Big Trees. Sadly, the mimosa died and had to be taken out. The others are all hale and hearty.

Just a reminder that you are welcome to come and enjoy the gorgeous weather! No need to ask at the house, just come and park on or near the driveway. John Poler has helped with a lot of cleanup in the past week, and the place looks great! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1BPL4iV2f3/

It's turning into a gorgeous day. I saw cars parked outside when I came home from church, which makes me happy. Anyone is welcome here any time during the day, no permission required, just enjoy. Sorry about being behind on some of the mowing, we had a lot of branches to clean up after that hard winter.

This handsome fellow has at least one female companion. Hope they're nesting.

The Carolina Silverbell is not quite at peak. One more sunny day.
