Thank You to our neighboring sister station and Chief Anderson for providing us with some of their fabulous funnel cakes after a busy evening handling calls from the storm. They never disappoint and are always delicious.

All 100% volunteer agencies in Augusta County save taxpayers roughly 1.4 million dollars per year for not having to have career staff in their stations that’s a Huge chunk of change.

This alone is why without volunteers, the county of Augusta would be vulnerable to insufficient fire coverage due to short staffing of career staff everyday.

Volunteers are the backbone to every local fire or ems agency not only in county of Augusta but around the country and should be appreciated more and helped more by the local, state and federal governments by whatever means necessary.

We are setup at Stuarts Draft Hwy and Ladd Rd intersection from 9-12 doing our Memorial Day Boot Drive. If your passing through be sure to say hello to our volunteers and drop all your loose change or bills in our boots and fill up our boots for our 100% Volunteer.

Okay community and followers. We adopted this bear who will later be put inside our fire engine and travel with us on calls. We have asked our members to help with giving him a name, So why not get our community members & Facebook followers involved with naming it. It will travel with us just like he is coat and helmet. So let’s hear your suggestions and once we decide on a name we will post it.

P.S. It will be used for a kids event at our Open House in June
