What's Behind The Bra? The mission is to Promotes Breast Cancer Awareness , reassurance and self-esteem by giving comfort items/care packages to women fighting breast cancer.

Last weekend at the health fair, I had the opportunity to share my story with What’s Good with Isaiah.

I talked about how I discovered a lump in my breast and underwent THREE biopsies that all came back benign. But something didn’t sit right with me. I continued listening to my body and advocated for myself. I pushed to have the lump removed and tested.

That decision changed my life.

The pathology revealed Stage 1 Breast Cancer.

Had I accepted the benign results without further investigation, my story could have been very different.

You know your body better than anyone. Ask questions. Get a second opinion. Advocate for yourself. Early detection saves lives.

Listen to your body. It may be trying to tell you something. 💕

National Cancer Survivors Day ❤️🎗️
June 2nd
Looking back at this video (shot in 2021 during chemo treatment) takes me right back to one of the hardest seasons of my life. At the time, I was trying to stay strong, encouraging other women to remain positive and embrace their baldness because hair grows back.

But if I could go back and talk to that version of myself, I would wrap my arms around her and say:

“Monique, everything is going to be okay. You’re going to make it through the chemotherapy, the surgeries, the fear, the tears, and the uncertainty. Five years from now, you’ll still be standing. You’ll be healthy, you’ll be helping others, and you’ll be using your story to save lives.”

Today, I celebrate not only being a breast cancer survivor, but the woman I became because of the journey.

To anyone currently fighting cancer: keep going. There will be days when you don’t recognize yourself. There will be moments when you’re scared. But don’t give up. Your story isn’t over.

Hair grows back.
Strength grows deeper.
Hope grows stronger.

And sometimes, the life waiting for you on the other side is more beautiful than you ever imagined. ❤️🙏🏽
