It’s time for another amazing Pantry story!
Please read the whole thing-
We have been so blessed by the Lynden Community Food pantry and the many families around Lynden who participate- either by donating, picking up or both. This ministry is such an incredible opportunity to see Gods fingerprints in the details.
Our family has been blessed to witness every story, every outcome. God decided to use this vessel as a way to teach our own hearts and those of our children. Hopefully, in the pantry stories, you have seen God’s fingerprints as well.
During the time of Covid shelter at home, we stepped up our operation to accommodate for the sudden influx of need. Now that we are almost in Phase 2, we want to back it down to the normal type of need this community has.
HOWEVER, our own (our family not the pantry) long term plans have changed. Yes that’s correct. We will be selling our home and moving our family (still in this area!!) due to some life opportunities and changes that came up. We would need to move administration of the pantry until the time we are resettled and then we can just start our own up again. We see this as God’s amazing timing.
This is a decision that we weighed heavily and worried over. But as we trusted God throughout the pantry’s process, we trust Him in finding a new home for it. We have contacted local churches to see if they will take it on.
For the next few weeks we will NOT take donations. We will still do food events. We need to actively scale it back.
Whoever gets the pantry and runs with it, we will ensure that they keep with the original vision. This ministry really represents God’s table, open to everyone who wants to be fed. No matter your circumstances. For everyone, by everyone.
God bless you all. If this comes as difficult news to you, we are very sorry. If you are concerned about any ongoing needs you will continue to have I invite you to check out the resource of the Lynden food bank, called Project Hope.
Any extra back stock will go to whoever takes the pantry on, as well as any financial resources leftover after some final food events.
The bottom line is- we should give each of you a round of applause. For encouraging, for supporting, and for providing what your community needed during this tough time.
Thank you.
The Sebens
