It's about the ability to gather with those you love and love you, to eat a plate filled with a potpourri of foods, and go back for seconds after dropping a notch on the belt.
It's hours of endless and meaningless conversations that meander like a grazing cow around a field.
It's complaining about the price of gas and groceries, while slipping the grandkid a $20 to get some fireworks, and watching the smiles on the toddlers face's as they wave a small flag.
It means playing some games in friendly competition, while adamantly disagreeing about if Snickers Salad is really a salad.
It's Grandma bringing over a delicious piece of cake, a scoop of ice cream on the side, on a plate festooned in stars and stripes.
It's about a small prayer of thanks, for the lives we have, the food of which we partake, and the love we have for the city and country we call home.
It is freedom!
