August 27th: Old City Cemetery is pleased to announce it will provide a second pair of 45 minute tours (10:00 am and 11:00 am), focused on individuals buried within our grounds, as another 250th anniversary celebration. The tours will be led by our cemetery historian who will weave the lives of 5 individuals into the historic narrative of our nation’s past. Over the course of the tour you will be made familiar with men and women, both famous and unknown, who made Lynchburg their home and left their mark on the city. $15/adults. $10/children under 16. Morris, Baxter, and Sampson are thrilled with the cool Monday morning! Come for a restorative walk through Old City Cemetery Museums and Arboretum and enjoy Fall foreshadowing! Our Mourning Museum and Gift Shop may be closed today, but you may still enjoy the grounds from Sunrise to Sunset.
