Before and after a day of playing in the dirt…and the Women Build team from Moore & Giles is still all smiles 😃

Found some Women Builders out in the wild today at Genworth’s Nonprofit Day!

Genworth has been an incredible partner of Habitat for years, and this fall they are the presenting sponsor of the Women Build. We’re so grateful for their generosity and can’t wait to welcome members of their team to the construction site soon!

Still buzzing from our wall raising day this weekend with the best women in town 🎉

More than 100 women in Lynchburg are swapping office attire for hard hats and picking up hammers to help build a home for a local family in need. Greater Lynchburg Habitat for Humanity's 2026 Women Build project is underway, teaching construction skills while creating a path to affordable homeowners...

The first glimpse at the Women Build. We could share so many words about what this day meant to us, but for now the one that’s really coming to mind is GRATEFUL.

Thank you to all the Women Builders who made this possible and to our amazing volunteer crew who prepared all week to lead all 70 women in raising the walls of this home.

What a day. What a community. And there’s so much more we have to look forward to ❤️

Just a few highlights from an amazing Habi-Hour with the Women Builders this evening! We mingled, tried our hand at some construction skills, and enjoyed some delicious treats (thank you, Elizabeth!!!).

So far we have nearly ONE HUNDRED women from our community signed up to build with us this fall and we have raised over $11,000 toward our goal of $50,000 🎉🎉🎉

This event was just the beginning. There is still time to sign up, join this amazing community of women, and help build this home!

Thank you Bank of the James for sponsoring this event!

Today, our Executive Director joined fellow nonprofit leaders from across our region at the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance’s Nonprofit Summit.

We’re grateful for opportunities like this to connect, learn, and collaborate with organizations that are working every day to build a stronger community.

📣 Get in, bestie...we’re building a house 💅🛠️

🗓️ Habitat’s Women Build 2026 registration officially kicks off on Tuesday July 14th and you’re gonna want to get in on the ground floor!

Round up your favorite people—your coworkers, your book club, your sisters, your neighbors, your brunch crew—and form a team! Together, we’re raising $50,000 to help build a home for a local family this fall.

Think less “girls’ night out” and more girls’ day on a construction site. 💕 (Don’t worry—we’ll teach you everything you need to know.)

Who’s ready to absolutely nail this?
Girls just wanna raise funds, after all 😉🔨

Another week of teamwork, community, and progress! 🏡💚

A huge thank you to the BWXT interns who spent time volunteering with us this week, and to St. Andrew Presbyterian Church for providing lunch for our crew today. We are so grateful for the groups and individuals who continue to show up, lend a hand, and help us bring another Habitat home closer to completion.

LOOKING AHEAD 👀
🌱 Because of the rain, our yard work has been delayed, and we need extra volunteers on Saturday, July 18th to help us rake, seed, and straw the yard before we hand over the keys to this home's new owner!

Help us finish strong and make sure this family has a beautiful place to call home. No special skills are needed! Just bring your willingness to work and be part of something meaningful!

Sign up to volunteer at lynchburghabitat.org/volunteer and join us for the final push! 🔨 🏠
