Lesson 6: Life in God’s Family –
1 Timothy 5:1–6:2

One of our verses from this lesson is 1 Timothy 5:22 - “Do not be hasty in the laying on of hands, and do not share in the sins of others. Keep yourself pure.”

Life in God's family means we honor one another in the way we treat each other as brothers, sisters, mothers, fathers.

1 Timothy 4: The Pastor of the Church – Lesson 5:

Can’t imagine having to lead as a pastor when you’re young and don’t have experience behind you like Timothy. It’s a reminder to us older folks to not be quick to judge, but to encourage younger leaders in how they’re living for Christ. God can give anyone the wisdom of how to lead as a pastor no matter what age if He has called them. Their gifts and anointing will make room for them.

Lesson 4 – Heads of the Household – 1 Timothy 3

A lot of women like to receive instruction in gaining wisdom and understanding. Love how Paul lays out the specifics for women in how our character is to reflect Jesus in 1 Timothy 3:11. The definition of dignified means controlled, serious, calm, and therefore deserving respect. The opposite is a drunkard.

When you have the Holy Spirit living in you because you received Jesus Christ as your savior, he changes you, so you grow into being a woman with these traits. He gives you that desire and helps you. If you feel you need to grow in these abilities ask him. He desires it more for you than you do!

Lesson 3 - Public Prayer and Behavior - 1 Timothy 2:

When I saw the picture below with the young girl connected with this verse, I immediately thought about young girls are watching us women. We don’t realize the impact we have on the next generation and how they notice how we live. It’s a good reminder to remember that, even though we have freedom to choose what we wear, may we want to dress to honor King Jesus. Younger women will model what they see and we want to be examples for Christ. Someone is always watching us. May our godly character be noticed more than our outfits.

Comment below a good deed you have known someone do for another.

Pictured below are of our first day at Community Biblestudy. The first is after the leaders had set up and we’re ready to receive everyone. The second picture is of all the women that came. Thankful for all who came! Those who are joining us this week. There is always room for one more!

Lesson 2 - Truth Twisters and Saved Sinners – I Timothy 1. Below is our verse for the week.

We all start as sinners, enemies of God. All we have to do is submit to Him, repent of sins, and receive Him as our savior to be in His family. How amazing we go from enemy to family! Only through Jesus, by God’s great mercy!

Comment below where you were when you gave your life to Christ and anything else about that day.

Lynchburg CBS class begins this Thursday, September 3, 2026 at Beulah Baptist Church. We meet Thursday mornings at 10:15am-12pm studying I/II Timothy, Titus, and Revelation.

These pictures are from our 1 day of training to grow in our leadership positions at CBS. The theme was “Cultivate Growth”. It’s amazing how plant growth can reveal steps of our own spiritual growth. Andrea was the sun, like plants we need Jesus, the “son” of God, to help us grow. We are getting watered in another picture. In another, stuffed bees are being thrown around. Not planned! Got to have fun! Cross pollination had to happen even for us leaders. LOL!

So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live your lives in him, rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.” – Colossians 2:6-7
