🌍 Today is World Food Day. 🌍
Today is a global day to raise awareness about hunger, poverty, and malnutrition, and to champion food security and equitable access to nutritious food for everyone.
Here at home, the statistics paint a serious picture. Results from the 2026 Virginia Poverty Hunger Study show that 42% of Virginia households experience food insecurity. That is 2 out of every 5 families in our communities—and that is simply two too many.
Today, we want to share a heartfelt thank you to all of our partners, donors, and volunteers. You stand shoulder to shoulder with Park View Community Mission every single day, helping us distribute food, stock our food pantry, deliver weekend meal bags to local students, and serve hot meals to families across Lynchburg and surrounding areas.
