Park View Community Mission

We aim to restore lives and build relationships by providing help, healing and hope to all. We serve the community through our six programs listed below.

1.

Our Mission is to restore the lives of families and communities by building relationships and providing life-changing resources. Food for Families - a client-choice pantry serving all on Thursdays and Saturdays

2. Food for Thought - a weekend meal bag program for food-insecure students in Lynchburg

3. Community Resource Center - an assistance and resource-based program to connect individuals wit

h the resources they need

4. The Clothing Connection - a unique shopping experience where clothing is provided free of charge to those in need

5. Life Skills Institute - a learning institute to help neighbors gain skills to live well and develop practical life skills

6. Park View Cafe - a weekly Wednesday night dinner open to all

Please note that each of our 6 programs has varying hours of operation, and we operate out of two locations.

Exactly one month ago, Thomas Road Baptist Church shared with their congregation about the growing needs in our community and how local organizations are standing together to meet them. We were so honored to be part of TRBC’s Local Missions Sunday, which kicked off their month long Teal Bag Initiative food drive for Park View.

These pictures show the incredible results of that love in action. We are profoundly grateful for TRBC's vision and for every single person who gave so generously, entrusting Park View to serve our neighbors well!

While the world spent the summer of 1996 glued to the Centennial Olympic Games in Atlanta, something equally transformative was getting underway right here in Lynchburg.

While athletes from around the world were going for gold, Park View Community Mission was taking its first steps.

Three decades later, our goal hasn't changed: standing alongside our neighbors with help, healing, and hope. The Olympic flames in Atlanta may have gone out, but our mission that began in 1996 is still burning bright! 💛
