Park View Community Mission We aim to restore lives and build relationships by providing help, healing and hope to all. We serve the community through our six programs listed below.

1.

Our Mission is to restore the lives of families and communities by building relationships and providing life-changing resources. Food for Families - a client-choice pantry serving all on Thursdays and Saturdays

2. Food for Thought - a weekend meal bag program for food-insecure students in Lynchburg

3. Community Resource Center - an assistance and resource-based program to connect individuals wit

h the resources they need

4. The Clothing Connection - a unique shopping experience where clothing is provided free of charge to those in need

5. Life Skills Institute - a learning institute to help neighbors gain skills to live well and develop practical life skills

6. Park View Cafe - a weekly Wednesday night dinner open to all

Dignity starts with the basics. 🧦💙

When our neighbors visit the Clothing Connection, they are often looking for the essentials most of us take for granted. Right now, we are completely out of two of the most requested, yet least donated items: brand-new socks and underwear.

Putting on a fresh, clean pair of socks or underwear provides a sense of dignity, health, and a fresh start for someone navigating a difficult season. We need sizes for all ages, from children to adults.

If you are able to help us restock, there are two easy ways to give:

While we are so excited for our incredible college volunteers heading home for break, and our wonderful local volunteers taking well-deserved summer vacations, it will leave our programs a little short-handed from time to time over the next few months.

Did you know that SNAP benefits do not cover basic hygiene items like toilet paper?

When budgets are tight, our neighbors are often forced to choose between buying personal care items and paying for a bus pass or gas to get to work or buying food for their families.

Can you help us restock our shelves with toilet paper?
📌Drop off a case or a pack: We accept any brand or package size!
📌Ship to us: Order via Sam's Club or our Amazon wish list.
📌Donate: Financial gifts allow us to buy in bulk.

We are grateful to the Carter Craft Foundation for highlighting the work of Park View Community Mission during their recent Jeep Cruise-In.

Foundation representatives Stacey Craft and Amanda Kent visited our team to donate the proceeds from a one-of-a-kind hat auction, alongside a generous matching gift from the foundation. These funds will go directly to our Community Resource Center to support local women bravely working to escape domestic violence.

This donation was made in memory of Katlyn Lyon. We stand with the Carter Craft Foundation in ensuring that her story is never forgotten, and that her legacy continues to protect and empower vulnerable women in Central Virginia.

In honor of Memorial Day, Park View Community Mission will be closed on Monday, May 25th as we pause to remember and honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.

All of our programs and services will resume normal operating hours on Tuesday, May 26th.

When you don’t have a roof over your head, a tent is a lifeline. It means staying dry during a summer storm and having a safe place to sleep at night.

We are currently running low on tents for our unsheltered neighbors and need your help to restock our supply!

👉 We are looking for: New or gently used, compact tents (2 to 4-person sizes are best for portability).

⚽️ WHAT A NIGHT!

A huge thank you to Hill City FC for hosting Park View Community Mission at their inaugural game on Saturday night! It was a beautiful evening for soccer, and we loved getting to share our mission with so many passionate soccer fans right here in Lynchburg.

We were able to connect with hundreds of soccer fans to share how we support our neighbors, and we are overwhelmed by the number of fans who brought bags of nonperishable food donations to the stadium.🥫
