In March, Michael and I bid on a two-day getaway to Scottsville at a fundraiser for the Central Virginia Land Conservancy (CVaLC).

🌸What a beautiful afternoon at our first Giving Circle event of the year, Rhododendron Ramble!🌸 This event was for members of our Supporters Giving Circle, who give $365 (a dollar a day for conservation) to $999 annually, and above.

This event was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Paul James. Paul led us on a tour of his beautiful property, where rhododendrons and azaleas were in full bloom and every turn offered something new to admire. The afternoon was filled with beautiful blooms, peaceful scenery, and thoughtful conversations.

We are grateful for our donors who joined us for this event. This gathering was our way of saying thank you for your generosity and commitment in making our work possible. Thanks to everyone who came out and helped make it a great day.💚

We had a wonderful time this past Saturday celebrating conservation, community, and the future of our region at the Cornerstone Celebration hosted at University of Lynchburg.

The evening kicked off with live music from the Porch Dogs, great conversation, and time to connect with passionate supporters. Guests then enjoyed an inspiring program featuring remarks from staff and board members Charles Lacy, David Perry, and Janet Scheid, along with a keynote from conservation easement donor, Garet Bosiger.

A highlight of the evening was the presentation of the Cornerstone Award and a special interview with Doug Coleman, recognizing outstanding contributions to conservation.

The night continued with delicious dinner and drinks, an exciting live auction and raffle, and more time to celebrate conservation impacts made this year.

Thank you to everyone who attended, supported, and made this event such a success, especially our generous sponsors including Myers and Woods Appraisal Group, University of Lynchburg, and Claytor Nature Center. Here’s to protecting the lands we love now and for generations to come!
