Spotlight on CVGS intern curating the Lynchburg Museum’s STEM exhibit…

Anchoring the activity was a set of researched displays and artifacts from Central Virginia Governor's School for Science and Technology student Loralai Ashton, complete with activity guide to encourage visitors to explore industrial and cultural artifacts throughout the entire museum, including Lynchburg-invented ChapStick and a model of the NS Savannah, the world's first nuclear-powered merchant ship, its propulsion system designed by Lynchburg's Babcock & Wilcox (known today as BWXT), which still develops propulsion systems for the U.S. military and NASA. Josh Aultice and Josh Vasquez had the chance to meet with local teachers over the weekend to talk about how solar energy works and the benefits. ☀️ These teachers work with students across all grade levels and will be applying what they learned through STEM activities in their classrooms. 📚
