The Lynchburg, Ohio Historical Society had the distinct pleasure of hosting the Freiberg Family Reunion on May 24th, 2026 in Lynchburg. The Freibergs are descended from one half of the Freiberg-Workum partnership that bought the Bowen Distillery here in Lynchburg and made products that were eventually known worldwide from 1857 until Prohibition in 1919. Chris Hamlin made a presentation on the distillery and generations of allied families, and created a huge display of artifacts and documents from Distillery days. Descendants came from California and New Hampshire and everywhere in between. Everyone had a wonderful time!

Lynchburg's Memorial Day ceremony will be held at noon on Sunday, May 24th at the Masonic Cemetery on High Street, Lynchburg, Ohio. In case of rain, it will move to the shelter house at the Old School Park. As a small part of the ceremony this year, the Lynchburg, Ohio Historical Society will talk about the life and sacrifice of TEC5 Emery James Gray, 640th Medical Clearing Company, US Army Ground Forces.
