Recent upgrades and expansions for the Centra Central Virginia Center for Simulation & Virtual Learning include new workspaces and simulation areas, upgraded audio-visual equipment, adult and pediatric manikins and VR technology.

Together, we are supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals and safe, high-quality care for our community!

Ruby's first stay at the Rosemary & George Dawson Inn was in 2021 while receiving treatment at Centra Alan B. Pearson Regional Cancer Center for breast cancer. She has stayed several times since, including to access excellent heart care at Centra.

As someone familiar with the Inn, the staff asked what she thought about recent renovations and upgrades made possible by your support.

Her response? “Five stars."

"I thought it was great. They are really going to help patients. I would recommend staying at the Dawson Inn to anyone. You can come in, get a good night’s rest and then go to your appointment. A five-star hotel wouldn’t treat you any better. It’s a lovely place.”

In addition to supporting the Inn when it opened over a decade ago to provide affordable lodging for patients, or family or friends of patients, and providing needed renovations, last year alone, your generosity covered over 100 nights for patients like Ruby so they could easily access the care and treatment they needed.

The Sara K. Buckley Tennis Invitational is serving up big impact today! 🎾

This annual third-party event is not only a wonderful tribute to Sara K. Buckley, but makes an immense difference for local cancer patients who struggle to afford medication, transportation to appointments and more. Since the invitational began in 2008, it has raised over $300,000 for the Cancer Patient Support Fund.

Suited up, scrubbed in and ... ready to see the latest addition to the growing robotics program, made possible thanks to YOU! 🙌

Over the past several weeks, Centra Foundation Board Members and staff have taken turns viewing the new da Vinci 5 robotic surgical system, the third of its kind we have supported since 2022. Benefits for patients include less pain, faster recovery and advanced care close to home.

This incredible addition represents innovation, quality, partnership and our continued work to improve the health of our community. The health system's commitment to the robotics program was recently recognized on a national level, which you will be able to read more about soon.
