Each year, One Community One Voice coordinates a Back-to-School event for Lynchburg youth. We were proud to partner with them and conduct Child ID registrations at the event. These registrations allow parents to have permanent identification records of their children should they ever go missing. Exchange Club Members Mike Staley, Dave Burch, Tina Smith, Mike Spencer, and Whit Clark helped provide this invaluable resource to many Lynchburg parents.

Our Club works hard every year to provide funds so we can reward some deserving young people in our Community as they move from high school into college. This year, so far, we have awarded two $1,500 scholarships. One went to Jillian Michelle Jurkow (Rustburg HS) who earned our Youth of the Year award. This award goes to a student who has demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular, and community service over their high school years.

We awarded another $1,500 scholarship to Summer Adams (Rustburg HS), for being chosen as our A.C.E. Award winner for 2026. The Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (ACE) award is for students who have overcome adversity to graduate high school and move their lives in positive directions. These students are often overlooked for their accomplishments and can serve as powerful examples to all students that hard work and perseverance do pay off.

Our Club is fortunate to have the resources to continue helping the non-profits in our area who work on a daily basis to provide needed services and support to our community. At the April Club lunch meeting, we hosted Vector Space . Elise Spontarelli and Mollie Walsh spoke to our Club, explaining the history of Vector Space and outlining the various services they offer. They are a "makerspace and community workshop with the mission to build an open and collaborative community that fosters innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of science based knowledge." Club Treasurer Mike Spencer presented the Club's donation to Elise to show our support for what they are doing.
