Our Club works hard every year to provide funds so we can reward some deserving young people in our Community as they move from high school into college. This year, so far, we have awarded two $1,500 scholarships. One went to Jillian Michelle Jurkow (Rustburg HS) who earned our Youth of the Year award. This award goes to a student who has demonstrated excellence in academics, extracurricular, and community service over their high school years.

We awarded another $1,500 scholarship to Summer Adams (Rustburg HS), for being chosen as our A.C.E. Award winner for 2026. The Accepting the Challenge of Excellence (ACE) award is for students who have overcome adversity to graduate high school and move their lives in positive directions. These students are often overlooked for their accomplishments and can serve as powerful examples to all students that hard work and perseverance do pay off.

John Bolton, Lynne Creasy, and Whitt Clark (not shown), served this month (May 2026) as the Club's work crew helping the Lynchburg Daily Bread in their critical mission of feedng Lynchburg's hungry. We are luky to have volunteers like this ready to help whenever needed.

Our Club is fortunate to have the resources to continue helping the non-profits in our area who work on a daily basis to provide needed services and support to our community. At the April Club lunch meeting, we hosted Vector Space . Elise Spontarelli and Mollie Walsh spoke to our Club, explaining the history of Vector Space and outlining the various services they offer. They are a "makerspace and community workshop with the mission to build an open and collaborative community that fosters innovation, creativity, and the pursuit of science based knowledge." Club Treasurer Mike Spencer presented the Club's donation to Elise to show our support for what they are doing.

Our Club is thankful for organizations like Lynchburg Daily Bread who work tirelessly to provide for those in need. They are feeding folks daily! Our Club's support this month came from our members John Bolton, Whitt Clark, and Mike Spencer. The terrific trio rolled their sleeves up and partnered with Daily Bread on Thursday, April 9, 2026, to help with this important work.

The Lynchburg Exchange Club is proud to sponsor this years Lynchburg Police Foundation Golf Tournament. The Lynchburg Police Foundation was created to foster a mutually beneficial relationship with our community and promote excellence in police services by providing resurces to the LPD, supporting LPD personnel, and encouraging citizen involvement in the Department. This tournament is a vital fundraiser to help them carry out that mission. Please consider sponsoring or participating!
