📚 We’ve Moved! 🚂

The Lynchburg Imagination Library is now officially housed under the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation page — where it belongs as one of the Foundation’s programs supporting children and families in our community!

We’ll now be sharing all updates, events, and registration opportunities directly from the Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation page.

👉 Please take a moment to hop on the train 🚂and follow Lynchburg City Schools Education Foundation so you can continue to stay connected with all things Lynchburg Imagination Library — including community events, new partnerships, and ways to support early literacy across Lynchburg!

Thank you for being part of our Imagination Library family — we can’t wait to see you on our new page! 💙📖

Millions of books from Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library are inspiring a love of reading in children each month—but their journey doesn’t end there. From a child’s mailbox to a college classroom, read how the very pallets that Direct Mail Services uses to deliver these books go on to fund Mission of Hope scholarships for students in Appalachia, turning simple materials into hope, opportunity, and brighter futures. ❤️📚 https://imaginationlibrary.com/turning-pallets-into-possibilities-how-dolly-partons-imagination-library-supports-mission-of-hope-scholarships/

What a fantastic start to the summer break! ☀️ Our new Program Administrator, Morgan Hall, and Director of Education Outreach, Bianca Braden Childress, spent 3 days at the Hutcherson Academy, meeting the rising LCS Pre-K students for the 2025/26 academic school year. In addition to meeting some incredible families, we were also able to register more than 150 NEW CHILDREN to begin receiving free books through the Lynchburg Imagination Library!!! 📚 We are so grateful for our partnership with Lynchburg City Schools and proud to support the children and families in our community.

It's “National Read Across America Week” and we believe it’s never too early to start fostering a love of reading. We want to thank Mr. Clarke, a Virginia Episcopal School teacher, for organizing student volunteers to help prepare the books we deliver to Virginia Baptist Hospital (VBH). Did you know that EVERY baby born at VBH receives their first free book and information on how to register for the Lynchburg Imagination Library? We couldn’t do it without our partnership with the Lynchburg Public Library, the "Born to Read" program, and our amazing community volunteers!

We LOVE our Community Partners! This week, we visited the Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lynchburg and spoke with their Youth Coordinator, Christina Bursa, about the amazing work being done through their "STAR Readers" program. We were thrilled to donate new books for their afterschool library and registration materials for younger siblings to enroll in the Lynchburg Imagination Library. It's always wonderful to collaborate with fellow partners in the community working to increase early literacy and help our youth get excited about reading!
