In 2024, Roads to Recovery was awarded the GLCF $100,000 Century Fund grant. Funds awarded were utilized for furnishings and equipment for a new detox program to deliver withdrawal management and recovery services.
This week, we attended the ribbon cutting at Dr. Robert Walter Johnson’s historic clinic building at 1001 Fifth Street where the 8-bed withdrawal management program was officially opened. The clinic preserves the integrity of the facility, honoring Dr. Johnson’s legacy in our community, and establishes a critically needed service that is consistent with the intended use of that facility.
Roads to Recovery’s mission is to assist people to find and sustain recovery from substance use disorders, and to eliminate the stigma that prevents people from getting help. They fulfill that mission by building services and supports to fill gaps in the system of care for people with alcohol and other drug addictions.
Yesterday marked an incredibly meaningful milestone for Roads to Recovery as we officially celebrated the ribbon cutting of our new Withdrawal Management Program.
We are deeply grateful to everyone who came out to support this moment and to the many people, organizations, and community partners who helped make this vision a reality.
A special thank you to the The Greater Lynchburg Community Foundation and the Lynchburg Regional Business Alliance for their support and partnership as we work to expand recovery resources in our community.
This program represents hope, healing, and new beginnings for individuals taking courageous first steps toward recovery. Thank you for believing in this mission and in the power of recovery. đź’›
