Thank you Ashleigh Meyer, Executive Director of the Historical Foundation, for the fascinating retelling of Lynchburg’s history and role in the American Revolution. This Saturday at 10 a.m. the Bateaux Festival will take place at Percival’s Island. This will be particularly meaningful for this year as we celebrate the 250th anniversary of our country’s founding.

Last Thursday evening, members of the Lynchburg Morning Rotary enjoyed a wonderful social hour at the Waterdog Restaurant, filled with great camaraderie, laughter, and fellowship. It was a perfect reminder that Rotary is not only about service above self, but also about building lasting friendships and strengthening the bonds that help us better serve our community. Thank you to everyone who joined us for a great evening of connection and Rotary spirit!

Congratulations to Kris Shabestar, President of the Rotary Club of Lynchburg on her 110% award at the 2026 Rotary 7570 District Conference this week. Area 5 Governor Traci Blido stated that Kris did a wonderful job leading her club to a new venue, plus she traveled to Argentina on a Rotary Wheelchair Distribution trip, and continues to direct our region’s Meals on Wheels, providing 200,000 meals to the needy each year. Thank you for being a great Rotarian, Kris!

This is a sneak peek of the Rotary International float that will be part of the Rose Bowl Parade on New Year's Day. The parade will be televised live beginning at 11:00 AM EST on ABC, CNN, Fox and NBC, and will also be livestreamed on Hulu and YouTube.
The Rotary float will be the 14th float in the Rose Bowl Parade.
