This is a busy leafcutter bee in Lynchburg called a Megachile xylocopoides. It’s a carpenter bee mimic with violet blue wings. She is collecting pollen from a native Achillea millefolium (Common Yarrow).

Check out this native Delta Flower Scarab Beetle photographed on native Boneset flowers in Lynchburg today. This beetle is a great pollinator and is harmless to humans.
